Please read these Terms Of Service carefully before booking or using any Satellite Adventures service. They set out the rights and responsibilities of both you and Satellite Adventures.

Welcome to Satellite Adventures

These Terms and Conditions govern all bookings, reservations, and travel arrangements made with Satellite Adventures. By booking a safari, tour, or travel service with us, you agree to the following terms and conditions. We encourage all clients to read this information carefully before confirming any booking.

1. Booking & Reservations

A booking is considered confirmed once:

  • A completed booking form has been received.
  • The required deposit payment has been made.
  • Satellite Adventures has issued a booking confirmation invoice or confirmation email.

All bookings are subject to availability at the time of confirmation.

2. Payment Policy

  • A deposit of 30%–50% of the total safari cost may be required to secure your booking, depending on the type of tour and accommodation.
  • Gorilla and chimpanzee permits require full payment at the time of booking due to strict permit policies by wildlife authorities.
  • Full payment for the safari must be completed before the start of the trip unless otherwise agreed in writing.
  • Payments can be made via bank transfer, mobile money, or other approved payment methods provided by Satellite Adventures.
  • Any bank transfer charges or transaction fees are the responsibility of the client.

3. Cancellation Policy

Cancellation requests must be submitted in writing via email.

The following cancellation charges may apply:

  • More than 60 days before arrival: Deposit refund may apply less administrative fees.
  • 30–60 days before arrival: 50% cancellation fee.
  • Less than 30 days before arrival: 100% cancellation fee.

Please note:

  • Gorilla permits, chimpanzee permits, flights, and certain hotel bookings may be non-refundable.
  • Refund timelines depend on third-party supplier policies and banking procedures.

4. Changes to Itineraries

Satellite Adventures reserves the right to make reasonable changes to itineraries, accommodations, routes, or activities due to:

  • Weather conditions
  • Government regulations
  • Road conditions
  • Wildlife movements
  • Safety concerns
  • Operational requirements
  • Circumstances beyond our control

In such cases, we will provide suitable alternatives whenever possible without compromising the overall safari experience.

5. Travel Documents & Visa Requirements

Clients are responsible for ensuring they possess:

  • Valid passports
  • Required visas
  • Vaccination certificates
  • Travel insurance
  • Any other travel documentation required for the destinations visited

Satellite Adventures is not responsible for denied entry, immigration issues, or costs arising from incomplete documentation.

6. Health & Medical Conditions

Clients should consult their healthcare provider regarding vaccinations, medications, and fitness for travel before departure.

Travelers must inform Satellite Adventures of any medical conditions, dietary requirements, allergies, or physical limitations that may affect their safari experience.

We reserve the right to decline participation in certain activities if they may pose a health or safety risk.

7. Travel Insurance

Comprehensive travel insurance is highly recommended for all travelers and should cover:

  • Medical emergencies
  • Trip cancellations
  • Personal injury
  • Loss of luggage
  • Emergency evacuation
  • Flight delays
  • Adventure activities

Satellite Adventures shall not be held liable for losses that could have been covered by travel insurance.

8. Liability

While we strive to provide safe and enjoyable experiences, clients acknowledge that travel in Africa may involve certain risks including:

  • Wildlife encounters
  • Road travel conditions
  • Weather changes
  • Delays beyond our control
  • Political or natural disruptions

Satellite Adventures, its employees, guides, and partners shall not be liable for:

  • Personal injury
  • Illness
  • Loss of property
  • Delays
  • Accidents
  • Additional expenses caused by events beyond our control

Participation in safari activities is at the client’s own risk.

9. Wildlife & Safari Conduct

For safety and conservation purposes, all travelers are expected to:

  • Follow guide instructions at all times
  • Respect wildlife and park regulations
  • Avoid littering or disturbing animals
  • Maintain safe distances during wildlife encounters
  • Observe photography rules where applicable

Failure to comply with safety regulations may result in removal from certain activities without refund.

10. Accommodation Standards

Accommodation is provided according to the confirmed itinerary and subject to availability. In rare cases where booked accommodation becomes unavailable, Satellite Adventures reserves the right to provide similar or upgraded alternatives of comparable standard.

11. Force Majeure

Satellite Adventures shall not be responsible for failure to perform services due to circumstances beyond our reasonable control, including but not limited to:

  • Natural disasters
  • Pandemics
  • Political unrest
  • Government restrictions
  • Terrorism
  • Civil disturbances
  • Airline disruptions
  • Border closures

In such situations, refunds and amendments will depend on supplier policies and operational possibilities.

12. Photography & Marketing

Satellite Adventures may use photographs or videos taken during tours for promotional and marketing purposes unless clients request otherwise in writing before the safari begins.

13. Complaints & Claims

Any complaints during the safari should be reported immediately to the guide or company representative to allow prompt resolution.

Formal complaints must be submitted in writing within 14 days after completion of the safari.

14. Acceptance of Terms

By confirming a booking with Satellite Adventures, the client acknowledges that they have read, understood, and agreed to these Terms and Conditions.
